Alternately described as symphonic metal, gothic, and progressive rock, S.I.G.M.A. Project brings a unique energy, visual aesthetic, and ingenuity to every aspect of their music. If most popular music thrives on sounding good immediately, while most counter-cultural music embodies deep messages and complex emotions that take time to unravel, then S.I.G.M.A. Project unites the two values. Quality music should be accessible immediately but also leave us finding still more meaning after hearing it again and again.

The band found its humble beginnings back in late fall of 2003, in Stockton, CA as the brain child of newlyweds Mary Hamer (lead vocals/keyboards) and Trevor Hamer (lead guitar) while Trevor was studying composition at University of the Pacific. The band, now based out of the San Diego area, is joined by Ruben Gomez on drums and John Roseli on bass.
